Maga New EP released yesterday in digital format. It features the title song (taken from When the Sun, the band's previous work) and three previously unreleased tracks.

The songs on this album are mostly built from a small instrument to make way for an amalgamation of sounds where the greatest burden falls on the guitars and bass, which wanted to take the lead role the work, but without the supporting characters (drums and synthesizer), devoid of any force that keeps in its interior.

Step by step, Catalan has forged a solid proposal and close, those with one identifies. And surprised he got such good results so fast. Each disc has been a little exorcism. One might think that, darker and denser sound, "Free association" is more healing than their predecessors, but need not be so. The New Raemon stars in a more enlightening introspective exercise than anything else (no blood, no wounds throbbing as at other times in his career) and this time he does it with some tools that remind us Madee. After a lineup change that brought Fred Abbott to replace Doug Fink, the Twickenham began to forge a long-awaited third album - "Last Night On Earth" - which opens officially on 7 March. Thanks to the miracles of the Internet, and especially to the efficiency of NME, we've been able to enjoy a highly recommended disc.
So far the proposal of Charlie Fink and his family has been characterized by a very acoustic indie folk and natural. With "Last Night On Earth" Noah & The Whale has turned so its sound great we can say that this latest album sounds much more pop than anything else. Initially this idea was something we fear but after giving some listeners we have seen that this experiment has worked ... and how! The desire to reach a wider audience may have been charged with other groups but this LP we see how the band has managed to fit perfectly the requirements of this change in sound. From the epic "Life Is Life 'or single' LIFEGOESON 'style until the '80' s' in 'Wild Thing' or 'The Line' (a pattern repeated in other songs on the album), N & TW find us a number of issues that happen to be the most addictive so far this year. In a tracklist adjusted (but without unnecessary fillers) we are able to glimpse even brave cuts, as' Old Joy 'o'Tonight's The Kind Of Night', which manages to combine synthesizers with vocals and an essence close to the Gospel. Great variety is that defines an attractive, sincere, and remarkably fresh (again) that make us see this third album as one of the best albums of the year possible.
"Last Night On Earth" may be the LP that will finally lead to the top of one of the most interesting indie bands in Europe. No doubt to hear this album: Noah & The Whale has managed to take their sound one step further both in quality and accessibility.
