A Spot On Tip Of Nose
Just months after the release of their debut, the flamboyant "Turning On" (Wichita, 10) in which they met their material to date, Cloud Nothings posted a continuation in leaving excess lo-fi sound for an equally compelling but more defined contours. Dylan Baldi, the guy behind the name, is one of those hyperactive kids and incontinent. The good thing about this is that some mature recorders, speed, and this is the case: with a layer of gloss, only some of the songs on "Turning On" had improved considerably. "You're Not That Good At Anything", "Not Important" or "Nothing's Wrong" sound even more urgent and desperate, as if they burned in the hand, while the more melodic moments as "Should Have" or "Forget You All The Time "contain the right amount of melancholy pop punk and vinegary, sloppy sound nuances of his first not allowed to appreciate. Cloud Nothings they are still more than many other young bands under the banner of punk-pop, but now at least we have a good time and enjoy your songs.
